Meet The Team

Meet the team that’s changing how Portsmouth moves.

Dr. Carrie Jose DPT Portsmouth NH

Dr. Carrie Jose, MSPT, DPT, cert. MDT

Founder & Doctor of Physical Therapy

Carrie has been helping people stay active, healthy, and mobile since 2002. She built CJ Physical Therapy & Pilates because she knew there was a better way to deliver care.

After years working in busy traditional clinics, she grew frustrated watching patients get lost in the system. Rushed through appointments, handed generic exercise sheets, and never fully heard. So she created a practice built entirely around the opposite of that.

Carrie holds two degrees in physical therapy from Northeastern University and Simmons College, a specialty certification in the McKenzie Method (MDT), a certification in Dry Needling, and is a comprehensively certified Pilates instructor. Her love of movement started at age four in her first dance class and never stopped. That lifelong relationship with how the body moves, as a dancer, instructor, and clinician, shapes how she treats every single client.

When she’s not with clients or building her team, you’ll find her running the streets of Portsmouth, hiking, practicing Pilates, or exploring the local restaurant scene with her dog Dozer.

The specialists behind your pain-free life.

Dozer🐾

Dozer🐾

Office Dog
Dozer joined the CJ Physical Therapy & Pilates team in January 2026 after being rescued from Tennessee as a young puppy. He quickly became one of the most popular members of the office and takes his role as Official Office Dog very seriously. His responsibilities include greeting visitors, boosting team morale, supervising lunch and snack breaks, and reminding everyone to get up, move, and take a walk - preferably with him. Friendly, energetic, and highly motivated by treats, Dozer is always looking for a new best friend and is happy to show off every trick he knows in exchange for a snack. His favorite part of working at CJPT is meeting new people and helping them feel welcome from the moment they walk through the door. And if he barks when you first arrive, don't worry - that's just Dozer's way of saying he's excited to meet you.

When he's not at the office, Dozer enjoys hiking New Hampshire trails, chasing birds and squirrels, playing with his dog friends, and spending time with his mom.
